The deadline for reservations for the Wednesday December 5th Annual DVOC
Banquet is this Sunday 12/2/07!

Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy this event at the Sheet Metal
Workers' Hall on Columbus Boulevard in Philadelphia (Penns Landing). The
banquet is open to members and non-members.
 
The speaker this year is Dr. Don Kroodsma - author of the "Singing Life of
Birds", a book about the art and science of birdsong. In this book he
demonstrates birdsong diversity through 30 carefully chosen examples. He is
THE man in the science of bird song today. His focus and approach to his
study is unique including touring the US on his bicycle, collecting bird
songs along the way. Dr. Kroodsma maintains that there is no better way to
hear a continent sing than by bicycle.
 
The recipients of the Julian K. Potter Award, the Witmer Stone Award and the
Conservation Award will also be announced at the banquet.
